Who am I in Multireligious Society? Religion Across Generations
Set to create public dialogue between people of different backgrounds and religious traditions, the Who Am I? monthly public conversation series will explore questions relevant to the upcoming Melbourne Parliament of the World’s Religions and to our multifaith society.
In this conversation, vibrant speakers from the Muslim, Sikh and Jewish communities reflect on religious identity across the generations.
Esma Yucel:
Esma currently teaches Religion and Values at Isik College's Keysborough campus and guides students through interfaith programs with Catholic schools.
Manpreet Kaur Singh:
Manpreet a freelance journalist, presenter of the SBS Radio Punjabi program and a regular contributor to a Sikh website called sikhchic.
Dr Paul Gardner AM:
Dr Gardner was born and educated in Melbourne, spent his professional life as a science teacher, teacher educator and educational researcher. Active in the Jewish community, he is a foundation member of the Blake St Hebrew Congregation, has served as chairman of the B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation Commission and is currently on the board of the Jewish Christian Muslim Association. He was appointed as a member of the Order of Australia in 2008 for his volunteer work in promoting anti-racism and interfaith relations.
