Bendigo Open Gardens

Sunday 8 November, 2009

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL BENDIGO BRANCH OPEN GARDENS AFTERNOON.

Enjoy an afternoon in some of Bendigo’s most beautiful gardens on Sunday the eighth of November, between 1.00 pm and 4.30 pm. For the first time eight properties in Mandurang and Strathfieldsaye will be opened by their enthusiastic, creative and dedicated gardeners.

A focus is on the sustainability of the diverse gardens. Styles vary from classical, to native, and to minimalist modern with sizes ranging from acreage to compact. All are wheelchair accessible.

At 2.30 pm, join Marilyn Sprague, at Goldfields Revegetation Native Plant Nursery for her native gardening talk and lovely wildflower walk. Afternoon tea is included, with an assortment of teas, coffees, cordials, sandwiches, cakes and slices.

Entry brochures, with map, route suggestions, photos and garden details, and with afternoon tea tickets can be purchased at the front of Strathfieldsaye Fire Station, in Tannery Lane, Strathfieldsaye, Bendigo. Funds raised will assist Amnesty International with their human rights’ work.
