Bendigo Historical Society Inc.
The primary purpose of the Society is "To encourage the study of history, especially the history of Bendigo" and to promote the compilation and presentation of authentic records relating to Bendigo.Places covered: The main area of study is the area covered by the present day City of Greater Bendigo which was created from from the former municipalities of the City of Bendigo, Borough of Eaglehawk, Shires of Strathfieldsaye and Huntly, and parts of the Rural City of Marong and Shires of McIvor and Metcalf.
At present the Society does not have a home and the majority of the collection is in storage and not accessible. A small collection of reference books and photographs is available for inspection by arrangement. Meetings are held monthly during the year.
