Special free events to celebrate International Day for People with Disability

The State Library of Victoria in association with the ICT Disability Working Group, with members from Able Australia, Baw Baw Shire (Rural Access), ComTEC (Yooralla), Department of Human Services (Disability Services), Disabled Motorists Victoria, Linux Users Group, MS Australia, Public Libraries Victoria Network, SCOPE, VICNET and Vision Australia will be holding two events to celebrate Diversity and Inclusion Week and International Day of Disability.

This one day conference for professionals in disability, government, library and information-related sectors marks Diversity and Inclusion Week and International Day for People with a Disability. The day will feature speakers and presentations focussing on the role and importance of IT in social inclusion and the lives of people with a disability.

Discover how technology can help people with a disability, seniors and those from a multi-cultural background at a free family fun day to mark Diversity and Inclusion Week and International Day of People with a Disability. Visit stalls showcasing services and products, and an exhibition of assistive technology; join in an audio description Library tour; enjoy children’s storytime, art and music performances; and brainstorm about future technology!
