Privacy Awareness Week will run from Monday August 26th - Sunday September 1 2002. The Victorian Information Privacy Act 2000 protects personal information held by Victorian government agencies, statutory bodies and local councils. The law becomes enforceable from 1 September 2002.

The Public Record Office is the State's archives authority constituted under the Public Records Act, 1973. It regulates the disposal and management of public records. It identifies records worthy of preservation as the archives of the State and makes arrangements for their preservation in perpetuity. It takes custody of records no longer required for current administrative purposes and provides access to records released for public inspection.

The Gardens are home to more than 51,000 individual plants, representing over 12,000 different species, and have become a natural sanctuary for native wild life including black swans, bell birds, cockatoos and kookaburras fill the air with their distinctive song.
The Gardens are owned by the people of Victoria and managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens Board.

The Victorian adult community education (ACE) sector is a network of over 520 learning centres and neighbourhood houses run by locally elected committees of management.
