Windows Live Mail Basic Account Settings

Basic configuration of Windows Mail is quite easy. Here's how it's done.

  • Click the Start button -> Programs -> Windows Live -> Windows Live Mail
  • On first launch of Windows Live Mail, you’ll be prompted with the following screen

  • Enter your email address, password and display name. Tick the box that says “Manually configure server settings for e-mail account” and press next.

  • On the next screen,
  • For Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server, type mail.vicnet.net.au
  • For Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name, type your ISP’s outgoing mail server
  • Click Next

  • On the last page just simply click
  • Those are all the settings you need. Your copy of Windows Live Mail is now configured for use with your Vicnet email account!
