Outlook 2007 Basic Account Settings
- Click the Start button
- Click Programs
- Click Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
- Click the Tools menu
- Click Account Settings
- Click Next
- Click Yes
- Click Next
Tick “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”
Click Next
- Click Internet E-mail
- Click Next
- Within the Your Name box, type the name that people will see when you send an email to them. This setting is not technical and can essentially be anything.
- Within the E-mail Address box, type your email address, e.g. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
- Within the Account Type drop-down list, select POP3
- Within the Incoming mail server box, type mail.vicnet.net.au
- Within the Outgoing mail server box, type mail.vicnet.net.au
- Type your User Name (generally the first part of your email address, the bit before the @ symbol) e.g. jcitizen
- Within the Password box, type your password (generally a random combination of numbers and letters totalling 8 characters)
- Click More Settings ... button
- Click on the Advanced tab
- Make sure the Leave copy a of messages on the server option is not ticked as this can cause mailbox full messages to be delivered to your mailbox.
- Click Ok
- Click Next
- Click Finish
