Configuring Emails on iPad

 

From the Home menu on your iPad tap on the Settings icon.

Tap on the Mail, Contact, Calendar section to go into there, and tap on add account to start the account creation process.

For this tutorial for setting up Vicnet email accounts we will need to Tap Other.

Tap the add mail account button

Type in the information required that we supplied you with on the next page

Then tap Next in the top right

On the next screen, continue entering the required information

Vicnet uses POP and IMAP mail. So tap the repsective option and make sure it's highlighted in blue as it is on below.

The following information must be filed out.

Name: The name you wish your emails to come from. (E.g. Joe Citizen)
Address: Your full email address. (e.g. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Description: Something to help you seperate it from other email accounts on the iPad.

Incoming Mail Settings for Vicnet are;

Host Name: mail.vicnet.net.au
Username: Your username (e.g. jcitizen)
Password: Your Email accounts password

The outgoing settings here should be whatever your ISP is at home where you connect through Wi-Fi, if you don't connect your  iPad through any sort of Wi-Fi then just put in the mail server of your mobile carrier.

Alternativly, if you enter your vicnet username and password, you're able to use the vicnet outgoing mail server, which is:

 

Name: smtp.vicnet.net.au
Port: 465
Connection Security: SSL/TLS
Normal password
And enter username or username@domain

or

Name: smtp.vicnet.net.au
Port: 587
Connection Security: STARTTLS
Normal password
And enter username or username@domain

Tap next, and you may may receive this message, just tap continue

When given the mail / notes screen, just tap save in the top right

And there you go, your account is all setup, when you go to your Mail application, your account will be ready to use.
