Microsoft Entourage 2001

Basic Configuration

Basic configuration of Entourage 2001 is quite easy. Here's how it's done.

  1. Open Microsoft Entourage 2001
    2. Creating a mail setting using the Wizard
  2. Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts

  3. Click New

  4. Ensure the Account type drop down menu is set to POP
  5. Click Assist Me

  6. In the Your name: box type in the name you wish to be displayed when other people receive mail from you
  7. Click the forward arrow

  8. In the E-mail address: field enter your email address
  9. Click the forward arrow

  10. In the Incoming mail server box type mail.vicnet.net.au
  11. In the outgoing mail server box type mail.vicnet.net.au
  12. Click the forward arrow

  13. In the account id field type your VICNET user name (usually the bit before the @ in your email address)
  14. In the password field type your password
  15. Click the forward arrow

  16. In the Account name: field enter your VICNET user name (usually the bit before the @ in your email address)
  17. Click Finish
    18. Creating an account manually
  18. Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts
  19. In the account type option select POP
  20. Click OK

  21. Within the Account name: field type your VICNET user name
  22. Within the Name: box, type in the name you wish to be displayed when other people receive mail from you
  23. Within the E-mail address: field enter your email address
  24. Within the Account ID box, enter your VICNET user name (usually the bit before the @ in your email address)
  25. Within the POP server: box, type mail.vicnet.net.au
  26. Within the Save password: box, type in your password
  27. Within the SMTP server: box, type mail.vicnet.net.au
  28. Click OK

Those are all the settings you need. Microsoft Entourage 2001 is now configured for use with your VICNET email account!
