Macintosh: Fetch FTP

Basic Configuration

Download Fetch 3.0.3

  1. Open Fetch
  2. Click File
  3. Select New Connection...
    4. Connecting to your Vicnet "tilde" Web space

    1. In the Host: box, type home.vicnet.net.au
    2. In the User ID: box, type your username. This is usually the same as your Vicnet email username
    3. In the Password: box, type your password
    4. In the Directory: box, type public_html
    5. Click OK

    1. In the Host: box, type your domain name, e.g. www.domain.na.me
    2. In the User ID: box, type username. This is usually the same as your Vicnet email username
    3. In the Password: box, type your password
    4. In the Directory: box, type public_html
    5. Click OK

    A Session Window will appear.

  4. If you select the files and double click or press return, Fetch will "Get" or download the files from the public_html directory to your hard drive. The "Get File ..." button achieves the same effect.
  5. To load the edited or new files into your public_html directory you can click and drag them from your hard drive onto the Fetch window. This "Puts" them into your public_html directory. Another way is to use the "Put File ..." button.
  6. If you "Put" a file using the "Put File ..." button, you have the option to select the file format "Format:" using a drop down menu on a message/command window.

For images, select "Raw Data". This is important!
