Internet Explorer 5

Basic Configuration

Basic configuration of Internet Explorer 5 is simple and fast, here's how:

1. Double click the hard drive
2. Double click the Internet Explorer 5 folder
3. Double click on the icon for Internet Explorer

4. Select the Edit menu, then Preferences, if you are not viewing the Browser Display category, click on the Browser Display category in the Web Browser section



All settings here are optional, however VICNET recommends that...

5. Within the Home page: Address box, type http://www.vicnet.net.au/
6. Within the Network section, click Proxies



7. Ensure that Web Proxy: is ticked, then type proxy.vicnet.net.au
8. Ensure that Use Web Proxy for all is ticked
9. Ensure that Bypass Web Proxy for FTP is ticked
10. Click Settings...



11. Witihn the Port: box, type in: 8080
12. Click OK
13. Click OK

Those are all the settings you need. Your installation of Internet Explorer 5 is now configured for Web surfing!
