Recently Vicnet implemented some new spam (junk) e-mail checking software.
Both outgoing and incoming e-mail is checked.
E-mails that have been classified as spam will have *****SPAM***** inserted in the subject header of the e-mail. Spam detection is not perfect, members should be aware that the software will occasionally tag legitimate e-mail as spam.
You may wish to filter these e-mails into a separate folder in your e-mail program or delete these e-mails.
Configuring Mail 1 to deal with SPAM is quite easy. Here's how it's done.

Options
If you wish to delete all email marked *****SPAM***** from the server...
- Within the Action section, click Delete the message
- Proceed to step 9
If you wish to download all email marked *****SPAM***** and store it in a separate folder...
- Click the File menu
- Click New Viewer Window
- Click the Mailbox menu
- Click New Mailbox...
- Within the New mailbox name box, type *****SPAM*****
- Click OK
- Within the Action section, click Transfer to mailbox
- Select *****SPAM***** from the menu
Those are all the settings you need, your installation of Mail 1 is now configured for use with your VICNET email account!
