Basic Configuration

Basic configuration of Netscape 6 is simple and fast, here's how:

1. Double click the HardDrive shortcut on your desktop
2. Click the arrow next to the Applications folder
3. Click the arrow next to the Internet folder
4. Click the arrow next to Netscape 6
5. Double click Netscape 6
6. Click the Edit menu, then Preferences



All settings here are optional, however VICNET recommends that...

7. Within the Home Page - Location: box, type http://www.vicnet.net.au/
8. Double click the Advanced category in the left hand column
9. Click the Proxies category in the left hand column



10. Select Manual proxy configuration
11. Within the HTTP Proxy: box, type proxy.vicnet.net.au
12. Within the Port: box type 8080

Those are all the settings you need. Your installation of Netscape 6 is now configured for Web surfing via VICNET!
