Macintosh OS9: Dialling

Using a terminal window with Remote Access

1. Click the Apple Menu at the top left of your screen
2. Click on the Control Panels
3. Click Remote Access
4. Click on the Options button
5. Click on the Protocol tab
6. Click on the box next to Connect to a command line host
7. Make sure that there is a dot next to Use terminal window
8. Make sure that there is no tick in the box next to Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications



9. Click the OK button
10. Click the Connect button
11. After the modem dials you will see a terminal window appear on your screen



12. Type in your username next to the vicnet login prompt
13. Press return on your keyboard
14. Type in your password next to the password prompt. You will not see your password when you type it in
15. Press return on your keyboard

If you cannot connect you may need to use FreePPP, a third party dialing program.
