Configuring PPP

1. Click on the Apple Menu on the top left of your screen
2. Click System Preferences



3. Click Network



4. Click the PPP tab



5. Within the Service Provider: box, type VICNET
6. Within the Telephone Number: box, type the phone number of the Vicnet access location closest to you

Usernames and Passwords

Your username and password are case sensitive - your username will always be in lowercase, whereas your password should be typed as shown on the documentation you've received.

Your username is the first part of your email address, the part before the @ symbol e.g. jcitizen@vicnet.net.au

7. Within the Account Name: box, type your username
8. Within the Password: box, type your password
9. Tick Save password if you wish
10. Click Apply Now
11. Click the System Prefs menu
12. Click Quit System Prefs

Testing your connection

1. Click the phone(modem) icon on the toolbar at the top of your screen



2. Click Connect

If you cannot connect you may need to use a PPP terminal window. If you are not confident you can do that, please contact Vicnet Help and we can help you fine tune your connection setting.
