Recently Vicnet implemented some new spam (junk) e-mail checking software.
Both outgoing and incoming e-mail is checked.
E-mails that have been classified as spam will have *****SPAM***** inserted in the subject header of the e-mail. Spam detection is not perfect, members should be aware that the software will occasionally tag legitimate e-mail as spam.
You may wish to filter these e-mails into a separate folder in your e-mail program or delete these e-mails.
Configurating Outlook Express 4.5 to deal with SPAM is quite easy. Here's how it's done:

Options
If you wish to delete email marked *****SPAM***** from the server...
- Click on the arrows at the end of the Execute actions if box and choose all criteria are met
- Click on the arrows at the end of the Action 1 drop down list and choose Delete message
- Click OK
- Proceed to Step 8
If you wish to download all email marked *****SPAM***** and store it in a separate folder...
- Click OK
- Click the File menu
- Click New
- Within the popout menu, click Folder
- A new folder called Untitled folder will be created in your folder listing
- Type SPAM over the Untitled folder text
- On your keyboard, press the return key
- Click the Tools menu
- Click Rules
- Click the New Rule button
- Within the Rule name box, type SPAM
- Click on the arrows at the end of the Execute actions if box and choose all criteria are met
- Click on the arrows at the end of the Action 1 drop down list and choose Move message
- Click on the arrows at the end of the Inbox box and choose the SPAM folder
Click OK

Those are all the settings you need. Outlook Express 4.5 will now deal with email marked *****SPAM***** automatically for you!
