Macintosh - Outlook Express 5
Basic Configuration
Basic configuration of Outlook Express 5 is quite easy, here is how:
- Double click on the hard drive
- Double click on the Outlook Express 5.02 folder
- Double click on the icon for Outlook Express

- Select the Tools menu, then Accounts

- Select the Untitled E-mail account (POP)
- Click the Edit button

- Ensure the settings are as follows:
- Account name: type in VICNET
- Click in the box next to Include this account in my "Send & Receive All" schedule
- Name type the name that people will see when you send an email to them. This setting is not technical and can essentially be anything.
- E-mail address Replace jcitizen in the above example with your own username (the first part of your email address, the bit before the @ symbol) and add @vicnet.net.au
- Account ID: replace jcitizen in the above example with your own username (the first part of your email address, the bit before the @ symbol)
- POP Server: mail.vicnet.net.au
- Save Password *******
- SMTP server: mail.vicnet.net.au
- Click on the Options tab

- All of the settings on this page are optional
- Click OK

- Click in the box in the top left hand corner to close the Accounts window
Those are all the settings you need. Your installation of Outlook Express 5 is now configured to send and receive e-mail!
