MySQL Administration

phpMyAdmin

Vicnet uses the phpMyAdmin software to allow you to administer your database via the web.

You can access the phpMyAdmin tool via http://services.vicnet.net.au/mysql/ where you will be presented with a login screen:

At this point, type in your username and password from the MySQL DSN details provided by Vicnet.

Once successfully logged in, you will see a welcome screen with your database name in the grey left hand column:

Click this name as it is a link to your administration options for your particular database. These options will appear like this:

At this point you can choose to build a new database table by table under the Structure tab or to use the SQL tab tools.

The SQL tab tools include a query box and an upload facility. The upload facility can be used if you are installing a third party software package provided with an SQL setup script.

When you have finished working with phpMyAdmin click the small green exit icon in the left hand column or click the Log Out link if available.
