Basic Configuration

Basic configuration of Netscape 7 is simple and fast, here's how:

1. Click the Start button
2. Click Programs
3. Click Netscape 7.0
4. Click Navigator
5. Click the Edit menu, then Preferences



All settings here are optional, however VICNET recommends that...

6. Within the Home Page - Location: box, type http://www.vicnet.net.au/
7. Double click the Advanced category in the left hand column
8. Click the Proxies category in the left hand column



9. Select Manual proxy configuration
10. Within the HTTP Proxy: box, type proxy.vicnet.net.au
11. Within the Port: box type 8080

Those are all the settings you need. Your installation of Netscape 7 is now configured for Web surfing via VICNET!
