Recently Vicnet implemented some new spam (junk) e-mail checking software.
Both outgoing and incoming e-mail is checked.
E-mails that have been classified as spam will have *****SPAM***** inserted in the subject header of the e-mail. Spam detection is not perfect, members should be aware that the software will occasionally tag legitimate e-mail as spam.
You may wish to filter these e-mails into a separate folder in your e-mail program or delete these e-mails.
Configuring Outlook 2002 to deal with SPAM is quite easy. Here's how it's done.

Options
If you wish to delete all email marked *****SPAM***** from the server...
- Within the what do you want to do with the message? section tick delete it
- Proceed to step 15
If you wish to download all email marked *****SPAM***** and store it in a separate folder...
- Within the what do you want to do with the message? section tick move it to the specified folder
- Ensure stop processing more rules is ticked
- Within the rule description section clickspecified
- Click New
- Within the name field type SPAM
- Click OK
- Click Yes
- Click OK
Those are all the settings you need. Microsoft Outlook 2002 will now deal with email marked *****SPAM***** automatically for you!
