Windows: Outlook Express

Outlook Express is Microsoft's basic email program. Originally known as "Internet Mail and News" when bundled with Windows 95, the program was later renamed and presented as a part of Internet Explorer 4. Outlook Express has been pre-installed with every version of Microsoft Windows since Windows 98 and hence is a popular tool for basic email functionality.

Outlook Express should not be confused with Microsoft Outlook which is a more substantial program that includes personal information management capabilities and is a component of the Microsoft Office program suite.
