Help With Vicnet Mailing Lists
Vicnet operates Mailman, the GNU Mailing List Manager which is a system for automating and controlling mailing list systems. This means that you can control who is on the list, and which messages are sent to the list via the web site interface.
More information and help is available from the Mailman Documentation web site, or alternatively view the Vicnet Help Pages.
Vicnet also offers an archive system. The archive system provides you with a permanent record of any messages sent via your mailing list. The archives are available on a web page. A search facility enables you to locate messages containing the search term that you are looking for. The message archive contains a folder for each month, and the messages are listed in the folder in date order.
Your mailing list can be set so that only the moderator can post. With this option, you wont receive any spam through the list. Be sure to request this option on the application form.
If you choose the web archive and digest version, you will have a web address for your message archive. You will need to request this service via the application form. An additional charge applies.
