Vicnet offers Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Internet Services. Our Broadband DSL account comes with a range of data options.

SOHO DSL is an "always on" Internet Service running at about six times the speed of conventional dial up services. SOHO DSL eliminates unnecessary modem disconnection and provides the Internet while continuing your normal telephone services.

Any Vicnet client who wishes to upgrade to our new SOHO DSL can either email sales@vicnet.net.au or call our office on 8664 7001 Monday to Friday between 9.00am to 5.00pm. Clients wishing to upgrade to our new Internet Service can bundle any existing fees and email addresses into the new Internet Service.

SOHO DSL comes with the following:

10mb free web space
Downloads per month at 5Gb & 10Gb limits
Accounts can be "throttled" when monthly data limits reached to 56k avoiding excess fees
Speed begins at 256 kbps download and 64 kbps upload

There are no limits to the number of computers you can connect to this SOHO DSL and multiple users can connect simultaneously. You can also use your conventional phone services while surfing the Internet. This eliminates the need for the second phone line which many clients have installed to avoid constant busy signals.

Each account is available as a Light or Super option depending on the monthly download limits

1. Bandwidth (download/upload): bandwidth capped at 56k when data usage for month exceeds cap.2. Gigabytes per month
Download limits: Gigabytes per month: usage calculated on downloads only. Your usage statistics are available to you in Members Services, located in the left hand side menu shortcuts3. Excess data: account is reduced to dial up modem speed when monthly download limit is reached.4. Mailboxes: Extra e-mails can be purchased from VICNET. Please refer to the E-mail account information for more detail.5. Set Up (once off): The account set up pays for installation of SOHO DSL connection at the local telephone exchange. If an "at home" visit is also required for set up please add $110 ($220 total)6. SOHO DSL Routers: You need a SOHO DSL router to connect to this service. You can either purchase a router from VICNET or use your own router if it is VICNET approved. For a list of VICNET approved routers go to http://www.vicnet.net.au/help/soho/routersup.htm. 7. LAN Users: The number of PCs users can connect to each VICNET SOHO DSL service.8. Static IP address: For DSL accounts with static IP address please refer to VICNET's eCommunity Business Grade DSL Products if you are a government or not-for-profit organisation. For-profit organisations should refer to VICNET's Business Grade DSL Products.
