2004 Hotham to Dinner Plain 'Pub to Pub' Ski Race (last year's pages)
Now in its 14th year, the race is an event for skiers of all ages and abilities, and you're likely to see first year skiers lining up with Australian champions. While we encourage everyone to get involved, the event does require you to be able to ski the 12 kilometres without assistance within three hours and be able to cope with the wild conditions this mountain can often produce.

Mount Hotham (OnTheSnow.com page)
Mt Hotham has undergone a transformation in recent years: a bridge to carry skiers/boarder across the access road, three new quad chairs, more snowmaking and lots of village developments. There is a good range of beginners and intermediate skiing/boarding and night skiing is offered on the Big D area. Accommodation is available on the mountain or just nearby at Dinner Plain, Australia's only village above the snowline but not in a national park.

This unique village comprises over 250 private lodges, cabins, apartments and commercial lodges, which have been built to enhance the rustic charm and heritage of the High Country. Dinner Plain is easily accessible along the breathtakingly beautiful Great Alpine Road, just 11km east of Mount Hotham.

Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort (OnTheSnow.com page)
Mt. Baw Baw's integrated network of eight lifts, services over 35 hectares of skiing terrain and provides some spectacular scenery. The inviting environment is enhanced by the large number of club lodges spread through the gum trees, resulting in a friendly family feel to the whole resort. It is the closest ski resort to Melbourne.

Mt Stirling Alpine Resort
The Resort is three hours drive North East of Melbourne via Yea and Mansfield on the Maroondah Highway. In winter, from June to October, Mt.Stirling offers 60km of cross country ski trails. (Ski Trail Map)

Mt Buffalo Resort
If you've never visited Mt Buffalo during winter it's high time you experienced this 'Winter Wonderland'. Mt Buffalo had the first downhill skiing tow in Australia, today, more than ever, it is recognized as the premier learn-to-ski mountain in Australia.

Lake Mountain

Licola Area
Not far from Licola are some of the best and least known cross-country ski areas in Victoria. These roads are not maintained during the winter, there are no facilities beyond Licola, so special care must be taken. Chains are essential for cars and four-wheel drives.

Mt St Gwinnear
Mt St. Gwinear is a cross-country ski area located at the north-east end of the Baw Baw National Park and is managed by Parks Victoria. (Ski.com.au page)

Brindabella Ski Club
Encourages members from diverse backgrounds to enjoy alpine activities in an atmosphere of mutual cooperation in Snowy Mountain lodges. A Canberra/Sydney based club with 47 years of skiing history.

Candoux Ski Club
Candoux, one of the oldest clubs on Mt. Buller, has recently been redeveloped.

Carey Alpine Club
Carey Alpine Club (Inc.) is a private members club, located at Falls Creek. The lodge offers self-catering style accommodation with private facilities and bed linen supplied in winter.

Coonamar Ski Club, Mt Buller
Information on friendly, low cost accommodation at an older style ski club on Mt Buller, Victoria. The lodge is warm, comfortable and spacious with good facilities.

CSIR Ski Club

Mt Buller Race Club Inc
The Mt Buller Race Club was formed in 1987 for the benefit of young alpine aki and snowboard racers at Mt Buller. Mount Hotham Racing Squad

Shepparton Adventure Club

Team Buller
The Buller Riders ski team has been operating since 1986. During this period the program has built an enviable reputation of being the best regional freestyle program in Australia. The program focuses on improving technique fundamentals for mogul and freeride skiing, group sizes vary from 6-8 skiers per coach ensuring maximum contact time and feedback. Skiers are grouped according to age and ability.

Telemark Nordic Ski Club Inc. Australia
The Telemark Nordic Ski Club is based in Albury Wodonga in North East Victoria, Australia, and being established in 1972 was the first nordic ski club to be formed in Australia. The club draws much of its membership from the twin cities of Albury Wodonga and from the surrounding towns in the North East. The club being located only about 100 kilometres from the Falls Creek alpine region does not need to have it's own on-snow accommodation.

Ski Touring Association of Victoria (STAV)
