More on Searching
I've got millions of results to my query, what do I do? Don't panic! Results are ranked with the most relevant first. If you don't get what you're after in the first couple of pages, you need to refine your search. Go to the Help section of the Search tool you're using - they are slightly different for each one. A common refinement is putting phrases in "quotation marks", or using Boolean logic: + - AND, OR, NOT, NOT, ( )
Search Engines are not able to index material produced by a cgi-bin program, database enquiry, or any other such material which is generated on the fly. Also, they won't index any area which requires a password. Most importantly they won't, or shouldn't index directories which are marked as off-limits to them as specified in a robots.txt file in the root directory of the site.
