Vicnet wins Scope award

Scope, a major provider of disability services in Victoria, has awarded Vicnet its Community Partnership award for 2009.

Scope commended Vicnet's Training area for its work with peak organisations in developing and delivering internet training for people with a disability; its instrumental role in establishing a state-wide committee working to improve access to information and communication technology in libraries for people with a disability; and its involvement in the development of http://www.pleased.net.au, an online forum for librarians to share knowledge and resources to support people with disabilities.

The project is funded by Department of Planning and Community Development and delivered by Vicnet.
