Victoria's Virtual Library http://www.libraries.vic.gov.au A total of 29 Victorian public library catalogues are now online through Victoria's Virtual Library. My Connected Community (mc2) http://mc2.vicnet.net.au/ Everyone from school kids to ninety year olds is becoming part of My Connected Community. The pilot project has established more than 15 online communities so far. By the end of September, 30 community groups will be online. The pilot project will report on the level and nature of support needed by community groups, particularly those groups with special needs, such as those groups with members with a disability. It will also identify factors that impact on the take up of the program.


Skills.net http://www.skills.net.au/ The Minister for State and Regional Development, John Brumby, has announced that 40,000 Victorians will benefit from a $5.5 million expansion of Skills.net. Skills.net currently operates in 580 centres around Victoria. Mr Brumby said that 50 new Skills.net projects would receive grants of either $10,000 or $50,000. The projects will target rural and regional Victorians, people from non-English speaking backgrounds, people with disabilities, women, seniors, indigenous people, unemployed and low income earners. Web Accessibility Workshops August 22, 23. http://www.vicnet.net.au/disability/training/ Learn how to make sure your web page is accessible. This training is conducted at VICNET in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortium Accessibility Guildelines.


Paint Shop Pro Training: Wednesday September 6, 1.30pm - 4.30pm. Learn the basics of graphic design for web pages using Paint Shop Pro. Learn how to create GIF and JPG images to go on your web site.
