8 - TASTE OF THE NATION National festival that celebrates the quality and diversity of the Australian food and wine industry, all in support of Community Aid Abroad. Top chefs are donating their time and talents to Taste of the Nation. This means you can enjoy a delicious meal for a just $6 per plate, and a glass of wine or beer for just $3. Last year more than $220,000 was raised around Australia. This year the event will be even bigger, with entertainment in each city featuring live bands, dancers, jazz and street performers. This unique event showcases the very latest in products and services designed to improve quality of life for people who have a mobility, vision, hearing or age related disability. The Association has particular expertise in the area of Spinal Cord Injuries and Poliomyelitis, but also provides services to people with other physical disabilities.
10 - WOMENS ONLINE WEEK 27 October to 2 November 1999 The aims of Women's Online Week are to: Show women what is online for them: So that they can take advantage of the information and services available online. Banking, booking holidays, researching health issues and communicating with friends and family are some examples of the options online. 13 - ARTIST: BRANDON SCOTT MCFADDEN Scott grew up in North East Victoria. He has worked with artist, Mirka Mora, architect David Moore and cultural interpter, Philip Ingamels on major art installations such as the Flinders Street Station Mosaic Mural, the Benalla Mural Garden, and the Orbost Rainforest Information Centre. Scott has established a studio in St Kilda, better known as "Velyetta" an historical residence for artists.
