meetings are held on the First Floor, Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital,
corner of Victoria Parade and Gisborne Street, East Melbourne.

Tram stop Number 12 is in Victoria Parade right outside the hospital. Tram routes which pass include Number 11, 12, 23, 26, 42, 109 and 112. Parliament Station is just two blocks away.
They commence at 1:30 pm and are usually finished in two hours. You'll hear interesting speakers talk about the particular problems which glaucoma patients face and how to overcome them.
We often have sessions in which members talk about particular problems they have faced in following their treatment plan and other members tell how they have overcome similar situations.

Our speaker was the Director of Pharmacy at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Geoffrey E. Davies, B Pharm, FSHP, MPS. His topic was "Eye Medications - Your Questions Answered."
This was an informal presentation and also in attendance was one of the hospital's recently recruited pharmacists - Mr Lachlan Shaw. Lachlan who joined the Department in January has a background as a registered nurse. After the formal talk they ran a question time.
Our speaker will be Associate Professor Justin O'Day and his Orthoptist Mrs Catherine Mancuso,
they will speak on diabetes.

Members were asked to give comments on a new leaflet developed by CERA
(Centre for Eye Research Australia) which deals with Glaucoma. |
Jaime Peck, the social worker at RVEEH. He talked about the range of services
you can tap into via his office. |
Dr Julian Rait. He discussed Advances in Glaucoma Research as observed
at the recent European Glaucoma Conference. |
Dr David Mackey. He talked about the importance of research being undertaken
into Glaucoma. He explained how it is carried out and how patients can
help when invited to participate in research projects. |
