School History (taken from "Vision and Realisation")

Known until 1906 as Naringaningalook, the school opened in January 1881 to serve selectors in the Parish of Naringaning in the Shire of Tungamah. Henry Mundy and nine others had sought the school in September 1878; the 2 acre site  was bought from E Bentley and gazetted on 28th May 1880 and the usual portable erected. S S 2366 had an enrolment of 50 in 1894, but the uninviting, unpainted building, smoking chimney, lack of adequate water storage, combined with regular winter flooding of the school ground and neighboring roads kept the a.a. (average attendance) just over 20. necessary repairs were made in 1908 and the grounds graded and drained in 1914, but enrolment was declining, being down to 8 in 1922. The school was unstaffed in July 1924 and finally closed on 22nd of April 1925.
