School History

(Taken from "Vision and Realisation")
S S 4477 was situated 4 miles N/E of Katandra West township in the Parish of Dunbulbalane. Colonel Murray Bourchier officially opened the school on 26th of June 1931. Mary E Corboy was the first HT. The move towards consolidation of one teacher schools in comparatively densely settled rural areas led to the closing of the school in 1954 and transfer of building and pupils to Katandra West. See also Katandra West No 4401.
Other Information:           The Invergordon South State school was situated on 3 acres of land given by Mr Dave Dempster.
