        (Extract from "Vision and Realisation")
Located N/E of Shepparton the school was petitioned for by John Furphy in 1878 and opened with W Smith as HT in  a building of mud and logs, with a bark roof and no chimney, leased from the Methodist Free Church in 1879. A portable school was erected and ready for use in 1880, on a site donated by Cyrus Ford. as the school could not be reached in wet weather, a two room cottage had to be leased.
      The school , closed and re-opened several times because of irregular attendance, but from 1916 to 1949 classes were held continuously until Barry*, the last HT; finally closed its doors in 1949.
      * Mr Flynn was actually the last HT

Commemorative Plaque

          A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the former School site on Sunday April 3rd 2005
 
 
        The Bronze Plaque is mounted in granite rock obtained from a quarry at Khull's Range, Katandra.
