What is OUT FM?
OUT FM Melbourne is a non-profit community radio station which relies on fundraising, subscriptions and sponsorship for its survival. OUT FM was established in early 1996 by a group of concerned young adults to provide a specialist radio service, targeting Melbourne's queer and alternative communities.
OUT FM Melbourne will strive to support the Australian Alternative music industry by ensuring air-play for fresh alternative and queer artists and producers. Through these aims, OUT FM will raise the profiles of Melbourne's existing music artists and promote new talent in our communities.
OUT FM Melbourne will play a vital role in the queer and alternative communities by allowing community groups and associations - no matter how large or small - air-time on our station, plus any assistance that can promote these organisations to Melbourne's queer and alternative communities.
Some of the great programming that makes up OUT FM is The 80's Club with Henry, Adam F and friends, Diva's Deviations, DJ Nigel Last, DJ Jon's Top 20, DJ Maddie B, country music and there will also be community access times. There will be a wide range of music for all tastes - from rave to country, house to hip hop.
Become a member...! By becoming a member of OUT FM you will help us financially as well as receiving great benefits yourself. You will receive the OUT FM monthly newsletter - 'Informer' each month, as well as a discount card. Plus (here's the good bit!), you could be on air, hosting your own radio show.

Donating your time to OUT FM is a great way of helping us stay on-air. By volunteering, you can help us remain an important part of Melbourne's queer and alternative community. Volunteers may also have an input into how the station is run. Area's that require assistance: Administration, Sponsorship, Programming, Production and Fundraising.
